Attractive cooper etching by Jan Luyken [Luijken, Luiken]. Luyken was a poet, painter and etcher who gained fame with his series of etching of different types of trade that were common in the 18th century. The series was realised with the assistance of his son Casper. This etching is from : Iets Voor Allen zynde een verhandeling en veerbeelding van allerhamde, standen, studien, konsten, wetenschappen, handwerken enz : Waar in derselver oorsprong, opkomst, aardt, eygenschap, deugdt em omdeugden, op een geestige wyze beschreven werdt. In het Hoogduyts zamengesteldt, en alom met vreemde geschiedenissen, zinryke zinbeelden en overardige gedagten doormengt, door den berugten Pater Abraham van St. Clara in ’t Nederduyts overgebragt door J. le Jong.
